Founded in 1963 by Edgar Powell and his son Louis D. Powell, our company began as a small, family-owned business in LaGrange, Kentucky named E Powell and Son. With just one backhoe and a few good shovels, they set out to provide reliable and professional excavation services to the community. Over the years, we’ve grown alongside the community, playing a key role in developing some of the first subdivisions in Oldham County by installing the area’s first water mains and digging foundations for newly built homes.

Today, Louis Powell Excavation is proudly run by Allen Powell, the third-generation operator in the Powell family. With a commitment to the same values that guided his grandfather and father, Allen stays true to the strong foundation of excellence, integrity, and service that has defined our company since its inception.
